JOHN E. LARSON has practiced law in lower Middlesex County, Connecticut since 1953. He was a founding partner of Gould, Sivin & Larson, the predecessor of our firm. He is admitted to practice in the courts of Connecticut and the U.S. District Court. He is a graduate of Amherst College (B.A., 1949) and Harvard University (LL.B., 1952). His public service has included terms as State Representative, Public Defender for Middlesex County, 1959-1961, Probate Judge, District of Deep River, and Town Counsel for Chester, Deep River, and Westbrook. He is a member of the Middlesex County, Connecticut and American Bar Associations. His main practice is in Estate Planning, Probate, Municipal Law and Real Estate.

JOHN S. BENNET is a lifelong resident of southern Connecticut and joined the firm in 1977. He is admitted to the courts of Connecticut and the U.S. District Court. John is a graduate of American University (B.A. 1973) and Franklin Pierce College and Law Center (J.D., 1977), where he was the Federal Editor of the Survey of New Hampshire Law, 1976. He is currently counsel to Regional School District #4 and the towns of Chester, Clinton, and East Haddam. He serves as an Attorney Trial Referee and is a member of the Middlesex County and Connecticut Bar Associations, the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association, and Trial Lawyers of America. John practices in the areas of Civil Litigation, Municipal Law, Planning and Zoning, Corporate Law, and Business Law.

MICHAEL J. WELLS lives in Killingworth, Connecticut, and joined the firm in 1983. He attended Western New England College (B.A., 1978) and Hofstra University (J.D., 1981), where he was a member of the Hofstra Law Review. He is admitted to practice before all Connecticut courts and the Connecticut U.S. District Court. Michael has served as a member of both the Westbrook Planning Commission and Board of Education. He is a former officer and member of the Board of Directors of the Westbrook Foundation, Inc., and is currently a member of the Board of Safe Harbor, Inc. He has served as Westbrook town attorney and is currently counsel to the Westbrook Zoning Board of Appeals, the Old Lyme Water Pollution Control Authority, and the Killingworth Land Conservation Trust. Michael is a member of the Middlesex County, Connecticut, and American Bar Associations. He practices Real Estate, Probate, Municipal Law and Planning, and Zoning law.

KENNETH J. McDONNELL began the practice of law in 1983 and has been a member of the firm since 1990. Ken is a board certified trial lawyer. He is admitted to practice in all courts in Connecticut, as well as the U.S. District Court, District of Connecticut, U.S. Court of Appeals, Third Circuit, and U.S. Court of Appeals, Second Circuit. He is a graduate of Boston College (B.A., magna cum laude, 1980), University of Connecticut (J.D., 1983). Ken is president of the Clinton Land Conservation Trust, Inc. and takes an active interest in community groups including coaching student athletic teams. He is a member of the Middlesex County and Connecticut Bar Associations, the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association and the Trial Lawyers of America. His areas of practice are Personal-Injury, Civil Litigation, Divorce and Family Law, and Municipal Litigation. He also has an appellate practice.

JAMES F. SPALLONE joined the firm in 2003. He is a life-long resident of the Valley-Shore area. He is admitted to practice before the state and federal courts in Connecticut, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit and the state courts of Rhode Island. James is a graduate of Williams College (B.A. 1987) and the University of Connecticut School of Law (J.D. 1992), where he was an associate editor of the Connecticut Journal of International Law. He was a law clerk to the Hon. William J. Lavery of the Connecticut Appellate Court for the 1992-93 term. James serves as state representative for the 36th Connecticut General Assembly district, which includes the towns of Chester, Deep River, Essex and Haddam. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Valley-Shore YMCA and the Board of Governors of the Block Island Club. He is a member of the Middlesex County, Connecticut and Rhode Island Bar Associations. James practices in the areas of general civil litigation, municipal law, criminal law, family law and appeals.
